Learn to Row Course starting August 23rd

We will be starting our next "Learn To Row" programme on August the 16th as we search for new athletes to join us.
The course will be  six sessions of two hours held on Saturdays from 14.00 to 16.00 and will cover an introduction to the club, the facilities and the basics of water safety. We'll progress quickly onto the
land based training on rowing machines to help you understand the mechanics of the rowing stroke
and from then onto the water which is the fun bit, in crew boats and singles if you prefer.
The course will be open to adults aged 16-35 years of age; ideally you should be of good fitness with
a history of participation in competitive sport. The cost of the course shall be £50 for the 6 week full
time coached course.
Newark rowing club offers excellent facilities including-
A fully equipped gym with 12 rowing machines and a range of brand new Olympic weights
A brand new clubhouse overlooking the river complete with licensed bar, and a club room
A range of learn to row boats as well as a good fleet of racing boats as you progress.
Newark competes at National Championships and top regattas such as Henley Royal Regatta. Many
past members have gone on to great things such as competing in the Oxford v Cambridge boat race, to
winning World Championship medals for Great Britain.
