Men's Squad
|
About us The senior men’s squad at Newark includes a range of abilities from novice rowers, who have some experience but want to improve their skills, to seasoned rowers who have competed at numerous Henley Regattas. The 2010/11 season has seen the welcome return of Olympic silver medallist and multiple Henley winner Lenny Robertson, who has taken up the position of men’s squad coach. This season promises to be more competitive and build on the past few years with the hope of a strong showing at The Head of the River and also to qualify crews for Henley Royal Regatta.
Training The men’s squad core training takes place on Monday and Wednesday nights and at the weekends on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Along with training, Newark enjoys various social events organised throughout the year and there’s always time after training in the week to have a drink and relax in the club bar.
Interested? Newark is always looking for new members to add strength and depth to the existing squad. If you’ve just moved to the area or looking for a new challenge, Newark can provide focused training on and off the water with the aim of producing crews that are competitive at various races around the country. If you are interested in joining the club please contact the club captain, Ben Jenkinson. Or alternatively if you are new to the sport of rowing and have no experience please have look at the Learn To Row page.
!!! COXES NEEDED !!!
If you have any coxing experience and are looking to join a club, Newark is in need of coxes not just for the men's squad but for the women's squad as well. Please contact the club captain if you are interested. |
