WELCOME
Newark Rowing Club is steeped in history being founded in 1873. It has evolved over time into a thriving club. We row on an excellent stretch of the River Trent which provides our members with the ideal opportunity for training, whether over long distances or for those who enjoy a scenic recreational row.
We are a very friendly club and are active both on and off the water with events throughout the year.
FACILITIES
Our facilities include a custom built clubhouse which is also available to hire, a fully equipped gym for land training and two large boat houses. Our extensive fleet of boats cater for a wide range of abilities from learners through to very competitive.
NEWARK ROWING – JUNIORS
The club boasts a very successful junior squad which is driven by a dedicated team of coaches. Beginners are guided through the mechanics of the sport and in no time find themselves competing and forming friendships which sets them on a path to success both on and off the water.
NEWARK ROWING – MASTERS & SENIORS
Masters rowing is a very popular section within the club with new rowers, people returning to the sport after a break and those who have continued from a young age. Both our mens and ladies squads compete locally, nationally and internationally. We welcome new members for these squads.
Seniors We are currently looking to recruit and support both active rowers and complete beginners to bring them on, and in recent years we’ve had seniors competing at National Championships, Henley Royal Regatta and Women’s Henley as well as strong results at the Head of the River and Women’s Head of the River. Senior members from Newark Rowing Club have also gone on to represent Great Britain and England, and have competed in the Boat Race, and amongst other things rowed across the Atlantic
